Ms. Clement graduated from University of San Diego School of Law in 1988 and has been in private practice in Sacramento ever since. She handled her first elder abuse case in 1994 and since that time she has focused her energies representing abused elderly and dependent adults.

She has experienced notable success handling cases of severe abuse and neglect, including several of the largest reported settlements in California. Her firm represents elder and dependant adult abuse victims throughout California.

In October of 1997, two of her cases were highlighted in a TIME Magazine article exposing elder abuse, Fatal Neglect. Lesley has also been featured in the National Law Journal, People Magazine and national and local television programs.

Lesley has been an active collaborator with federal legislators, legislative committees, and federal agencies in an effort to enhance the oversight of the long term care industry.

Lesley was co-trial and co-appellate counsel in the California Supreme Court decision Delaney v. Baker (1999) 20 Cal.4th 23, which held that California’s Elder and Dependent Adult Civil Protection Act applies to all healthcare providers, including nursing homes.

She is the past Chair of the Nursing Home Litigation section of the American Association for Justice, and contributes her time to several nursing home reform advocacy groups. She is passionate about her work, her clients and her cases.
